Imaginary Rendering: F11 BMW M5 Touring – BMW BLOG
The E34 M5 Touring was the world’s fastest wagon when it was introduced in 1992. It was BMW M Division’s first wagon, but at the same time the last hand built M car. For the E39 generation, a prototype M5 Touring was built (Titanium Silver with black leather interior), but it never made into production. The car shown first to journalists in October 2009.
The E61 M5 Touring was introduced in 2007 but was never offered for sale in the United States.
With the new generation F10 M5 launching in 2012, many rumors around a touring version became to surface. But according to our sources, BMW has no plans to offer an F11 M5 Touring.
This hasn’t stopped rendering artists from around the world to design, at least on paper, their own version of the M5 Touring. Created by Auto Projeções, the computer generated image gives us an idea of what it would be like to see BMW release a competitor for the Audi RS6 Avant and the E63 AMG Wagon.
