Video: Drifting the 2013 BMW M5 and 2013 BMW M6 Coupe – BMW BLOG
In previous episode of Car and Driver: Abroad, the U.S. magazine pitted the 2013 BMW M6 against the 2013 BMW M5. While that video focused on numbers and performance, today’s episode of Abroad focuses on the beauty of these two machines around a racetrack.
Both cars are powered by a high-revving 4.4-liter turbocharged unit that uses the BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology. The engine outputs 560 horsepower from 5,750-7,000 rpm and 680Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque from only 1500rpm. The F10 M5 comes, in the U.S., with a manual and 7-speed DCT transmission, while the M6 is only offered with the latter option.
The new engine produces around 10% higher output than the V10 engine of its predecessors and torque is up by over 30%. At the same time, real world fuel consumption and CO2 are expected to be reduced by approximately 30%.
The base price of the F10 M5 is $90,695 while the M6 is $106,995.
